Hello again
I had posted a while back this lathe. A 415-ZC model C
http://s291.photobucket.com/albums/ll290/mattiosteam/

It was shipped on Dec.9, 1944 and is in awesome shape. Came with a buttload of tooling as well (and a handsome stand/cabinet to boot). The seller is looking for around $2500 CDN for this unit and is too much $ for me (regardless of how much it might be worth). i will however put any folks who are interested in it in contact with the owner. Just let me know.

I did find another lathe. A CL944-Z (shipped on May 28 1959) model A. I can get this one for around $300 (much easier for me to swing). It needs paint, but it runs quite smooth...there are a few nicks in the ways...but over all seems ok. (for a learner lathe anyway). Here it is

Let me know what you think ( I will more than likely get this one tomorrow).

cheers,

Matt

The Model A (green one) is a good deal for $300. (Even if there were problems with it you could most likely part it out on Ebay and get more than twice your money back. The Model C for $2500 even if brand new and never used is priced too high. Gary P. Hansen

Gary.

I think most of the costly lathe was the tooling. I saw a SB milling attachment go for around $320...yikes. The 4 jaw chuck can go for a pretty penny too.

That is a good buy for $300.00, you cannot get hurt at that price.

The Colchester looks like an exceptional buy and should not last long at that price. Anyone near Vancouver should get themselves over there posthaste.

Buy it,don't find many that complete for that little money here.

I would lose the John Deere paint scheme though:D

Yea paint it evan Blue, seriously though for $300.00 dollars you cant go wrong. Heck if nothing else it would make a good wood lathe.
