Well as I said last week I cleaned and painted my shop. Lots of hard work moving every thing out that I could pick up and shuffling things around to paint and clean. Every thing got washed down with Simple Green and wiped off. walls ceiling lights and all tools and machines . Painted bottom of walls a chocolate brown and a off white on top . All a latex enamel paint in gloss. Turned out real good I think finished up Sat night. Here are some photos as promised.this is the inspection and supplies area

Nice job, can hardly tell you did as the machines look ready to spin.....I think you'll be happy with the brown lower, that or green seem to hide dirt the best, not that dirt looks like it's allowed to buildup for long in your digs.......LOL

I thought it looked pretty good when it was white Lane. It seems it is always cleaner then mine and I just got done cleaning for company. I don't imagine you want to spread paint up my way per chance? Any way good job and I am a little jealous. Jay

I think it looks real good too Lane. I like the two tone paint scheme also. I'd like to paint mine but I don't feel like moving everything out from the walls to paint.

Lane...fantastic job! It must have been a real back breaker to move all of that equipment around but worth the effort. From what I have seen the two tone scheme seems to be very popular way back to the early days. I worked in several shops that were dark and light green. The tool and die plant was painted that way until we got a new plant manager, who wanted to improve morale. He had us paint it light brown and an off yellow, sort of ocre. It really perked up the place and made the light green machines stand out more.
Thanks for the pix.

I painted my shop when i fisrt built it but over the years grease coolant oil ect. flinging sopinning and chips flying all over have definately done in the once sterile enviroment. Funny thing is that im so used to it being dirty i dont really notice it until i see a beautiful clean shop like youre. Now im off to my dirty shop to make some more chips, You did a nice job and have a nice shop.

Lane,
That looks really nice - I couldn't work in something that clean:) Two things I regret about my home shop setup:

- I should've painted the floor before I moved in any equipment - as it just isn't going to happen now

- My shop is in the basement - I painted the walls with a light gray waterproofing paint. While this hides some dirt - it probably would've been better to use white instead.
