Hi. I know there are guys in the marine industry here, so - Anyone have some pointers on a good way to mount a capstan head to hydraulic motor?

Here is what I'm working with:

bored 1 1/4", no keyway presently.

short 3/4" keyed shaft

So - bearing block with spaced bearings pressed in to housing with a 1 1/4" shaft bored to take the motor shaft? What type of bearings? bearings vs bushings? I was thinking I would turn a small shoulder on the outboard side of the shaft to catch the inner race of the bearing and a circlip on the inboard end to hold it all together?

Last question - can I buy this off the shelf?

I'm not in the marine biz, so don't know much about the application, but I am currently assisting in the liquidation of a Seattle based, marine supply company. I can run it by my friend in the morning, see what he says. Drop me an email, and I'll see what I can do.
