Russ you got me thinking last night,if as you say a person who welds is a Weldor while a welding machine is a welder

Then shouldn't a person who erects iron be an Ironworkor instead of an Ironworker which punches and shears iron?

Just baffled,baffled I tells ya:D

No, he's an erector. A person that specializes in erecting is an erection specialist. :)

OK.. I prolly know the answer to this but I just snerked coffee out my nose holes :D
As you all know.. I'm an expert in englisholigy so this shouldn't be too hard...
I think both used to be called "welder". But as time went on... the "O" made it's appearance.
Foreman takes welder up to look at job.. welder looks at machine.. buried to the axles in mud that he has to work on...
He says "O"... Sh$%!!!!
Welder is now under said machine... keeps banging his head on big chunk of steel.. He says "O" why you dirty rotten @&*$%^&#...
You get the idea... that's where the "O" came from.
To this day weldors are still famous for turning the air blue in at least two ways.(Buncha foul mouthed brikkinbrakkerbrikkerbraker)
Russ (spelt with an "O")

Dunno Ringer.

Some blokes I know are big dicks at the best of times - all the time.

Others probably similarly endowed are right up themselves.

I've been called what I presume those big dicks are made for - a BIG one!!! - and that would be true enough. I hope its true as I wouldn't want to think that I'd wasted all that time and effort. I must have succeeded as I've not found many that would say I'd failed - quite the opposite in fact!!

Some "young ladies"????? I knew must have been in the legal profession as they were Soliciting - so I'm told (by the Cops).

Now where do weldors and their welders fit into this - you may well ask.

Making man-hole covers (bl**dy big ones!!) and welding them in place - what else? Oh yeah, "them" "manholes" in the street too. After all we must ensure the safety of the citizenry - must we not? If I were to fall into one of those man-holes would that make me "A Man In the Street"?

See - it wasn't OT at all - was it?

Don't worry Russ.

So was Charlie Chaplin - "The Little Tramp".

Check out the section in the following link entitled: "Relationships with women, marriages, and children."

He was both a "Tramp" and a real "erection specialist" and was knocking out kids (he said) until he was nearly 90!!!

I used to drive home from work just South of Cleveland and smiled every day. On the main drag of an industrial area was a huge sign in the lawn of a company. I forget the exact name now but it was like "Smith's Premium Erection Company". It was a commercial building contractor but I still smiled every day I passed it. It was a HUGE building too! :D
