The fixed caliper leg is just held down with an old Hard Drive Magnet. The Clamp around the quill is a Bicycle Seat Clamp. They come in various sizes. Had to file out the little retaining lip in the clamp so it would slide all the way on.

Extra long bolt with a bit of tubing and a washer to tighten the clamp and provide a longitudinal motion attaching thing.

Works like a beaut!

I should give credit for the Alestostatic Coupling concept to GKman, but I wont. :)

As an aside, the clamp can be used without the caliper to act as a Stop, so you don't keep ejecting the drill chuck every time you back out while drilling a deep hole.

I have a Packet of the difficult to come by Alestostatic Couplings that I would give away for $10.00 each plus postage. Colours and sizes may vary.:)

It's the postage that would be the killer on this great deal!
