This was my last weekend work,

*Milling a jig to hold the work at the proper angle and setting it up--4 hours

*Realizing that the angle is wrong and beating my head against the wall--15 min.

*Re-milling the jig to the proper angle and setting it up--4 hours

*Time to actually machine the part, less than 5 minutes--Priceless

Why do we do it?

my Friday night
Time to pull headstock from P&W lathe: 3 hours
Time to machine and heat treat new feed dawg: 1 hour
Time to reassemble: 2 hours
Time to take apart and put back again after dropping last screw in oil sump: 3 hours
Have all the feeds for my lathe for the first time in 20 years: priceless
