EDIT: OK, this is just wierd.. it says on the page bottom there on the search page that it does "NOT" use a gps.. but it grabs random positions around the area of the phone.. simulating tracking the phone..
I feel kinda foolish. Been made a fool of.. well it ain't the first time...

Use Google earth, type in listed Longitude and Latitude with a comma..
83.3200,-120.00 etc... (ahh made this up)
Does not work 100%, does anything with a computer hooked to it? So far all my wife's friends are within a few blocks of the projected location thou.

Not a real tracker, just shows the area code location

Say one cell phone is a landline in Michigan City Indiana, and the other is in Killeen TX. Ain't niether of them in those locations. Just give the interchange location (second 3 digits) and not where the phone really is. Those folks just don't travel very far.

I think it's a scam to collect cell phone numbers. I wouldn't enter any real cell phone numbers, unless the cellphone is of people you don't much like :D
I suspect that the numbers are sold, and you'll soon find yourself being contacted by someone who tells you that you've won a free vacation from contest that you've never heard of.

Rotate:
Well them same people forward me jokes, them jokes pick up email addresses.. for spam..
So, I guess todays test was payback? whadda buddy huh?
Some of the 423 numbers were in Dalton Ga, 423 is a Tennessee prefix.. I'm still scratching my head.. A couple of the "find it cell" locators were not very nice for sure.. zoomed in on locales around the ip address your're transmitting, then went to porn.. I done a virus-adware check since.. had two.

I tried mine and it showed me in portland. I tried my roommate (Who has a SoCal area code) and it showed her in LA. She is about 20' from me...

That's the thing I think,just because somebody lives in Podunk.IA doesn't mean their cell service was bought there.

Cut it apart, this looks to be the working guts:
It calls two programs which I ain't found yet.
Validate.js (java)
jsval.js (another java)
Now what does it do? it comes back with something every time.
This morning all them 423 numbers are in Tennessee, including my phone laying on the table here.
?? Still confused.. As normal.. I don't know it all.
<div id="search_wrap">
<script type="text/javascript" src="/includes/validate_phone.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="/includes/jsval/jsval.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
function gosubmit()
{ initValidation();
if (validateStandard(document.forms['frmProc'])) {
document.getElementById('processing').style.displa y='block';
if(document.getElementById('fade'))
document.getElementById('fade').style.display='blo ck';
setTimeout("window.location = '/results.php?p="+document.forms['frmProc'].phone.value+"'",2000);
return false;
}
return false;
}
</script>
For me, it seems to show the location of the store that sold the phone. For one of our phones, that's about 150 miles from where we presently live.

Based on the couple of numbers I tried it looks like it shows the location of where that phone number was first purchased. Has nothing to do with current physical phone or phone's current location.
Some people turn off the stalker option for cell phones. Only 911 operators and above can get access to the info.
Some phones such as my Blackberry have true GPS receivers in them and will return the exact location if authorized. My cell service is Verizon and they shut off the GPS receiver in the Blackberry unless you pay the POS bastiches $10/month. Even then it only works where there is cell coverage even though the GPS itself does not require the cell coverage. If I'm in an area that has cell coverage I don't need a GPS. I bought that phone specifically because it had a GPS and so was really hacked off to find Verizon tampered with it. Can you tell? :)
That site is definitely more interested in the cell numbers than the cell's location. That's because it's now legal to call cells with spam calls. It also provides them with the text address so they can send text spam. Very evil.

www.donotcall.gov (somebody check the address) is one site.. I got my cell phones and my house phone registered.
The Honda dealership, after we bought the lil Honda car.. well they got the smart idea they could call me three or four times a week with a robot caller. could not hang up. It'd ring right back..
Too bad for them, they tried to prove a continuing business relationship with me, they sent me tax documents and other things to sign. I refused to even get the lil car serviced there. As far as I know, they had to pay for the fines. I warned them twice, the second time I cursed three of thier employees who laughed at me.
The internet spam solicitation phone calls.. not much you can do for them. They are not in the country. 1-800-toll-free-svc is what they come up on the caller id's.
