[1]Could someone please advise me on how to cut 30 degree involute splines (9 teeth 20/40 DP, major diameter 0.500" )in the bore of a carbon steel flexible coupling hub.
This is a "one off" application to drive a small hydraulic pump (SAE AA PTO pad)
I have a vertical mill and a rotary table.
[2]As an alternative is there a source for 0.500" splined bore spider type couplings?
What I have seen so far does not go below a
0.625" spline size
Thank you.

Look for an outfit called HUB CITY,they have all sorts of splined bore couplings that can be welded and or keyed into a standard bore Love joy or similar jaw type coupling,If you need help finding them let me know.
