I have a chuck for a mini lathe tailstock (like this:http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=1148&category=1) (http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=1148&category=1) and would like to know if I can use an R8 adapter (http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=2190&category=) to use the chuck with my mill, or do I need to get a single piece type like this: http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_view.php?ProductID=1396&category=

Thanks,

Gary

If you buy the 2190 part and have a wedge to remove the chuck from the
adapter then you can use the chuck in both machines.
If you spend more and buy the 1396 set, you will avoid having to do a lot of switching around and be much happier in the long haul.

Thanks - I'm going to bite the bullet and go with the simpler solution as you suggest.
