Well, from what I've heard, from my buddy who's been in contact off and on for a couple years, Dave has spent some time in the hospital. I suppose that at 84, he's ready to retire. Don't know what his current health situation is.....

I talked to him a few times a few years back, when I needed some parts. A character, to say the least. He told me he had stuff that he'd had so long that he'd forgot about, and everyday was a new adventure. Looking at the ebay photos, I say he was telling it straight.

Don't know about the son, but looks like he has his work cut out for him.

I'd have to say that given what was said on ebay that it will soon be over for the Sobel operation. To bad. I'd like to have all his stuff here and sell it until I'm 84

Sorry if this is a bit of a hi-jack, but I saw this at the bottom of the auction page,

Protect Your Cash Flow! Consider equipment financing from eBay.

When did Ebay start this "stuff" ?

Dave is going out of business. He has been selling off for the past couple of years, but at the prices he was wanting, not much was moving. That eBay listing looks like nothing more than ad for three real auctions he will be having. Under true auction conditions, it might be worthwhile attending.

I knew he had some nice hand crank planers,I'd love to have one of those, even a baby line shaft unit.
