I tried out 2 Chinese 200 amp tig machines for my LWS, to see if they wanted to be a rep for them, both burst into flames within 10 minutes of being plugged in and turned on. I have pictures somewhere, both were total write offs, needless to say, they don't rep them.

I bought my used Lincoln 175 (think thats the model) for $500 off ebay. There is a buch of them always for sale. To small for business, and most hobby people don't have the power to run them, so they stay cheap!

Guys..it's the same old story...
Maybe the china tig will work...maybe not...
But where is the backup support system???? There likely isn't one...no parts..
Up here in Canada...any foreign built welder can be hard to get parts for...at least here. A buddy of mine has an Esab plasma machine. He is always cussing how long it takes to get parts...and how much they cost. He did save a few bucks buying it...but he's paid dearly since.

Check your local or not so local Craigslist. And look out for scammers.... Don't buy anything and have it shipped.
Lots and lots of Tools up for sale this time of year, the Des Moines Iowa one has TIG machines at least once per week listed.
