View Full Version : Santa came early

Looks like I must have evaded Santa's bad list this year and he has supplied me with some goodies a bit early.. However he seems to have removed a few $ from my bank account for these early presents...

It is ISO30 taper and came with three collets...Anyone know what these ISO 30 collets are called???? Also came with an ISO30 to 3mt adapter.

Only PITA thing about it is the drawbar which I think will be 1/2 Whitworth (have not measured it yet), which while will not be hard to make a new drawbar for, just a pain to have to switch drawbars for all the different tools I have..

I have 30 taper tools with drawbar threads in whitworth, nc , and metric.
the wells index quill is threaded for a quick change nut,of course some tools wont fit the qc nut
way too many options .....
lt ways makes things interesting when using the variuos tools .

I wouldn't worry too much about finding NT30 collets, get a ER collet chuck for it and be done with it for much less cheese.

i have a Bison er 32 collet chuck in the spindle most of the time, eats up a bit of headroom, but makes life much more fun as i can put endmills, or switch over to drills quickly , with out having to put a drill chuck upin the spindle

I have an ER40 collet chuck I normally use (although I find it sticks too far out from the spindle so want to get an ER32). I just found these ISO30 collets interesting as I have never seen or heard of them before...

they would be good for gaining a bit of altitude.
