Just had a sales flyer form WMT tooling today.

Saturday morning delivery GUARANTEED [ their highlighting not mine ]
Order before 5:30 pm on Friday and get guaranteed FREE delivery on Saturday before 9:00 am or you can claim 10 money back.

Sound impressive but it's even more impressive when you realise it has to ship overnight from Germany to the UK, then get delivered.

Think I'll wait until 5:15 this Friday and order five 2.5mm drills...........

We used to order B&O spares online which were overnight delivery from Denmark to UK.

If I order from McMaster-Carr at 5:30 I will get it to my door the next day via UPS Ground. That is only out of there Atlanta warehouse, but thats where most stuff comes from anyway.

I like to cheer for the underdog, but I'll applaud McMaster today anyway. Seems like by the time you hang up the phone the order is already on the porch. I wish they'd teach everybody else how to do that. Then the world would be much smaller indeed.

Let us know when those drills arrive John.

We have been getting overnight from Germany since WNT started. Can set your watch with the UPS guy appearing at 9.30am every day of the week.
They started doing this because WNT Sheffield`s sales people could never differentiate between invoice address and delivery address and were letting us down,so it was set up so that every order came direct from Germany to the workshops.
Although owned by Ceratizit,WNT are not cheap even after discount.I find that there are major savings to be made buying direct from Ceratizit.

Here on an Island in the North Atlantic it is very hard to get anything on time
A few years back Travers Tools stated offering a 3 day delivery!
(Freight was included in price along with duty)
Not Bad when you consider the package is coming from New York to
Carbonear, Newfoundland.
Before that I would usually wait 5-7 business days unless
I pay through the nose for air freight.

merry xmas
ps Just an example of air freight cost
I needed a piece of Bronze for a job over xmas,
and the air freight for 312 lbs was $850.00 + hst (13%)!
( and I still had to wait 2 business days)
