    L-Tec plasma cutter

I took a small L-Tec plasma cutter in on payment for a machining job. It needed parts,my friendly welding supplier of the same machines got me a wiring diagram, faxed, barely readable. When asked if they had an old unit, they said no,we smash all the ones we get in on trade. The unit is a PCM-VPI,230v,1ph,35amp. It's missing what I believe is a power transistor.ESAB says that part is only $502. !! 2 weeks from Japan.
There's got to be a cheaper solution. My oxy-propane is much cheaper so far. George

Dont bother trying to repair it. There is a good chance that replacing the transistor it will blow again. Something in there blew that thing in the first place. Galco might have the transistor too. If I recall it was a big power darlington.

Best bet is to use the machine on a trade in credit towards a new hypertherm.
