Does anyone know what the connection between the belt tension lever and headstock should look like? The part
didn't come with this lathe I bought. It seems that a pin should go there. I cut off a smooth section of square head bolt that fit pretty well and cross drilled it for a pin. I think adding one more pin to hold the lever in position will make it work ok but I'd like to know what the original looks like.

Some e-clips in the right place might work better than the pins. And once I learn how to use the lathe I could probably make something really nice.

My SB is 2000 miles away from me at the moment but from what I can remember, your little fix is nearly exact to how mine is set up. It really is that simple.
