ok my question is pretty simple i just dot thave the answer , iam using the really thin rods thiniest ones i can get anyhow at 50 to 70 amp they work great at belpw 50 amps i can get it to hold and arc ,, i cleaned it all out today took it apart not much in these things thats for sure but noticed some sort of a circut dont realy reconize whait it is any how is it possible that part can weaken the welder, i can not use rods any thicker then the 1/16 ones as they wont arc at all worth a spit even at 70 amps setting ,, it is also possible iam losing amp to the welder as i do have a 50 foot extension coard i have to use that runs from my out side plug to my shop to power it..

The extension cord is probably the issue. What gauge. Should be a minimum of 10 ga I would say.
