I would like to get this Gun kote for some products. Because of logistic difficulties I cannot buy it.

Do you know of a generic 'kind' of coating that I may source from a local specialist which is the same thing....
...What do I ask for?

Thanks

Many Years ago i used to apply Gun Cote to my Engine Barrels and also Cases on my huge Drag Bike engines and also Street Bike Engines (nice stuff) Had to clean (glass bead surface) and then Bake in a Oven (wife didnt like that it STINKS LOL) I also heard (word on the streetLOL) that the UDT (seals) uses guncoated weapons for under water salt corrosion proof weapons coatings. I have NOT seen it around for Years as I retired from Drag racing Motorcycles but will keep a eye out

"KG" comes from Kal-Gard an '80's era marque in the lubricant and coatings industry very popular in Motorcycle and high performance community. They hold the the "Gun-Kote" brand from what I understand and it looks like they have a Euro site:

http://www.kgindustries.eu/index.html

Looks like a branch of Kal-Gard is still around too:

Hope this helps...

David,

Not sure you have access to Brownell's or not, but here is a place in the US to get it, http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=1150
Also here is the US site and they might be able to tell you where to pick it up in the UK. https://www.kgcoatings.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=26

I have talked to Mr 'Gun Kote' in UK. He has stock and is getting me prices, specs and all the data.

Looks like I am sorted. Thanks all, especially abn:)
