DC motor question

Looking at two 1hp, 1725 rpm DC motors for a lathe application.
One is 12 volts, 80 amps, the other is 80 volts at 10 amps.

Would either one be more appropriate for this application and why please?

The 80 volt one.

it's lots easier/cheaper to get 10A at 80 V than to get 12V @ 80 amps....... and more controllers are available that will do it.

But a 90V motor is more common........... sure about the 80V??????????
