I would like to get some information, about the FM1 vault rifle I am building. I am getting ready to start drilling and tapping the hole for the stock tang. Well I would like to know ,is what angle the hole in the reciever was drilled at. I used a protractor to figure out the angle by placeing the protractor on the print in the book , but I get a reading of about 6 to 7 degrees. Is this angle correct or even close. Any help greatly appreciated.....Steve

On page 26 Stock and forearm it refers you to chapter #3. Look on page 41-43. Fig.3-31 shows a tang angle of 8°.

It is really not that critical. Just keep the stock bolt inside the grip and buttstock. Then make the stock to fit you. When you finish you will probably have a one of a kind in your area. I have never seen a FM 2 other than those I have made.

If you wish to mount a scope and it is not too late. Pictures of my action mods and scope mount. I used the four corners of the action for screw holes. Should not lower strength. The scope mount fits over the receiver front and rear. About .020 this stops movement under recoil. The screws just hold the mount down.
