SIF's data sheets for their Phosphor Bronze wire gives a higher tensile strength than mild steel MIG weld, so that's not a surprise.
What's strange is that he's got MIG, he's got Argon and he's thinking of using a copper alloy to repair cast iron?

Spot On!
I've had great results with Nickel wire on butchered cast iron exhaust manifolds.
I'm guessing copper based alloys will work too, not looked into possible advantages to Phosphor Bronze but Nickel is a lot cheaper and works,
