    wiring dc power supply

The power supply for my cnc project shows it can be wired 110 volt or 220. Is there a reason 220 would be better than using 110?? Jim

220v uses half the current. All depends on how much you are drawing from your 115.

Amazing how the old just hangs on. Around here, it's 120 and 240. Been that way for years. Where are you guys?

But quite a few things are still marked 110/220, And since it's 'nominal' voltage It's alright to say 110, 115, or 120.
Here, mains voltage is 110, my house in pearson was 117 during the day, and 122 at night.

          In short, No !

For the low power you need, there is no benefit to 220/240 ( Politically correct guys)
