Reading the latest "The Home Shop Machinist" magazine (July/August), I noticed and liked the beginner callouts and the section in the Balance your Wheel Once article on making your own cutter. Also the section on Intro to Heat-Treating in the Quick-change Jaw System article was a good and useful read.

A lot of times I will quickly look at an article knowing I am not going to be building the project any time soon. However, sprinkling the articles with sections geared to more inexperienced people is really helpful and adds value to the magazine for all experience levels.

Keep up the good work!

I'm glad they kept some of the contributors as well..
Steve Acker and Chuck St Louis are two of my favorites.

I find that the magazines seem to be leaning a little more towards the beginner but they seem to still have some appeal for the more experienced. A narrow path to follow but they seem to be doing it pretty well.

I am planning to make the wheel balancer. Surprisingly my dad is not paranoid about melting lead.
