No finger joints.

Last place I worked had an old finger jointer in the pattern shop, very old, it was still on flat belt drive but had a motor hung on the back to replace the line shafting which was took out in the 1950's.

Gangs of 1/4" cutters and spacers making probably a total of 10".
Sliding bed with stops and a sideways movement of 1/4" so you could 'hand' the front and sides of boxes.

It was originally made for making the packing cases !!
That shows the quality, when they built the new packing shop with air staplers etc this was supposed to be scrapped but got hidden in the pattern shop because everyone used it for making various boxes.

All my reamer boxes, expanding reamers and countess other were done on this during down time.
No idea what happened to it when they packed up, hopefully it went to a good home as a lot of the really old non specific machines made decent prices, an old 1900's hand lathe with no equipment made 280 ?

Some people call these finger joints but there actually box joints finger joints are more wedged triangular shaped.I think it's an old dental cabinet. anyway I like it the drawers are very small however very deceiving when you look at the sizes anmd the photo's .Alistair

Including chrome knobs off piano actions :D

Actually I scored on this because I came back from dinner one day and there was this big stash of gear on the loading bay.
Looked in one of the boxes and there were these chromed knobs.

Went and saw the stores manager and asked what was happening and he said they were having a clearout of old unused stock and these knobs were no longer fitted.

Played the white man and got permission to get some, some being 10 boxes of 80 per box :p

What I have left I'm hanging on to because later I fancy making some really nice boxes for my retirement workshop.
