Hi, who do you guys recommend for a set of firing pins and springs for a Browning Citori O/U? Last set I got a few years from a Browning dealer. I went back for another set and was advised that the pins were restricted parts, they needed to be fit to the gun. I asked in what way, and was told the protrusion needed to be checked. Fine, I said, here's the reciever. He then told me he needed the whole gun. So, he's pumping sunshine up my skirt. I'd like to know just how he plans to measure protrusion with the barrel on the gun!!!!!!!!!

I know times are tough, but these guys are supposed to be reputable, and are a factory authorized Browning service station. Am I missing something?????

Sounds like a federal law is involved. Perhaps he is required to check the barrel to make sure it meets some other federal specification.

No federal law is involved, but if he's still an authorized Browning service center, he probably has an agreement with Browning that they make him abide by, such as test firing after fitting the pins to "prove" that they're fitted right and not puncturing primers. Try Brownells on the pin.
