I'm planning a travelling hoist for my workshop, mainly for changing chucks on the big lathe but also for the occasional heavy workpiece.
I've got a Mickey Mouse electric hoist, and a beam traveller to fit a beam with a 3" flange.
next step is to find out what I can safely load that beam to. 5" x 3" beam (127 x 76 to us metric persons), bolted to steel roof beams with a max span of 10'.
The roof beams are adequate for much more than this job requires.
Anyone know the answer, or can point me to where I can find out?
Many thanks
Tim
