I ran across this on another board. It is a precis of a 17th century book on gunmaking at the time. It gives a brief look at the tools and methods of the time and a few examples of the level of precision, quality and beauty of the firearms of the time.
It also gives a look at how a barrel was drilled and turned and how a shotgun tube was rolled and welded from sheet.
