In my last post a few days ago I was trying to find the right vice for my rung fu mill. I deciided to go with the 5 in. vice. Today I found a 5 in. US made Brown & Sharp vice for 80.00 it is in good condition, but it only opens to 3 1/2in. The Enco 5 in I was thinking of buying opens to 4 11/16 in. Do you think I should sacriface a smaller openig for a quality vice? Any thoughts, Stan

For the price then buy it/use it and depending on your project requirements you may need to buy a larger one later on. They make tiny "screwless" vices that are designed to be held in your large main vice for holding small parts, Like clamps there is no such thing as having too many.

Kurt style mill vices have removable jaws that can be placed on other parts of the vise to hold thinner materials (plate). My vise can mount the face on either end of the movable jaw. The back face will mount inside or outside the back end of the vise. Worth checking out.

If it were me, I would buy the quality vise for $80.
