I just saw an ad on craigslist for Lansing Michigan for a reid surface grinder for $250. Said it runs. Looks to take about a 6X18? chuck. Looks like a good buy.

Good price. I have a Reid. Nice machine. I think I have posted on how to check out a surface grinder in the past. Takes a wide straight edge or small surface plate and a DTI with a mag base.

The 5 washer method tells you nothing.

Hi DeereGuy475,

Thanks for the offer to go look at the machine, but I am all set on surface grinders for now. I'm running out of room too.:(
I am also only an hour or so from Lansing. I posted it in case someone within driving
distance was surface grinder defficient.

BTW, I looked at the pics of your shop, etc. Looks nice. Keep up the good work.

I see the price has been dropped to $150. Looks like a real bargain.

Brian, thanks it's taken awhile and I am thinking about adding a cnc lathe.
BTW I am originally from Allegan.
