Anyone aware of a Canadian outlet where I can purchase a grinder arbor with the following specifics.

1/2" L/H thread approximately 4" in length to fit 1/2" grinder shaft.

Perhaps some one has a surplus item in there spare gear.

make one . That is what the lathe is far. 30 minutes should do it. are less.

Lane wrote 'make one' however not as easy as it sounds. Firstly I am a pure novice with my lathe recently purchased in August. Secondly I have no experence turning thread. Lastly I cannot reverse the leadscrew on my lathe. Refer to this thread on the topic.

Perhaps I could run the motor in reverse then turn my tool upside down. That way the leadscrew works. Somehow this doesn't sound like safe practice.

That won't do it, the thread will still be RH for LH only one of leadscrew/spindle must be reversed. It will however let you cut a thread from the bottom of a hole or close to a shoulder, without risking a crash.

Hi. This company might be able to supply the corect rod but you will have to attach it to the system you have. http://www.threadall.com/

I rebuilt an arbour for a buffing system but used the lathe to cut the LH thread. Another alternative is to purchase a LH die from KBC - say 1/2"-20 and have a go that way.

I think I got mine at Princess Auto. I looked online, but, with their new site I can't find anything.

Also, try Lee Valley Tools.
