Ever since I had all of my small engines on display at the Cookstown steam fair last summer, the pine plank they were mounted to has been setting on the floor in the corner of my office. I have just about tripped over it enough times that I decided yesterday that I had better do something with it. The door on the left goes into the pumping/heating area for my hot tub uptairs, and the door on the right goes into my little machine shop. (They both open off my engineering office.) There was just enough blank space on the wall between the two doors to build a display case to hold all 6 of my small engines and some of the machinery driven by them.---and to make good use of the 8" wide pine plank which I had stained and varathaned last summer. Its not finished yet---I still have to actually attach the engines to the shelves, but it works admirably well to get them up off the floor and even gives me a place to park my briefcase.---and helped to dispell another mornings boredome------Brian

Great display of very nice engines and implements. Thanks for the post. Maybe someday I'll try to get organized (doubtful). Thanks for the post, Earl

Nice work, a great little reminder as you walk to work in the shop or rest in the hot-tub.

Remember that doors slam and as they do, over time, they might "walk" one of those great works off the shelf and onto the floor. I would hate to hear about such a catastrophe.

By the looks of the doors, you could have omitted that part!

Nice shelves, are they going to be 'usable' while on the shelves?

Ken.

Yes, they will be bolted down to the shelvers and will operate in place. The hot tub is in the upstairs, off the master bedroom suite. Only the heating and pumping station is inside that left hand door. Thats what keeps my shop and office warm all winter when its -20F outside

I meant that you could tell by the hand prints that the right side door was to a shop.

Plumbed for air and it would be a great display.
