Can anyone offers some insight/experience with the Wilton combination belt sanders? Their model 4002 has a 1" wide belt, and the 41002 has a 2" wide belt. But the differences go beyond belt widths. The design of the 4002 has an idler pulley, and the 41002 is driven directly off of both ends of the motor. Their different configuration means that the belt speeds for both are in the 3000 to 3100 RPM range, but the disc speed for the 4002 is 1,725 RPM versus 3,450 RPM for the 41002. What does this difference amount to in real world terms? Faster material removal, but less suitable for fine work?

The tables also look different. Can anyone shed some light on that too?

Much obliged.
