We had one in the old barn back on the farm.
The thing worked very well until Dad wonted to drill a 3/4" hole in a steel plate.
I was just a small kid & could hardly turn the handle that time!
Ours had an automatic down feed system.
Dad had a theory, why use a 1/4" bolt when a 1/2" will do.
That hand drill press was way better then a beaver w/ a chipped tooth.
