Any one familiar with a Baker AMD Mill?

Curious, Is there a special use for these?
30 Taper and looks like a horizontal.
A weird little mill from appearances.

There's lots of Nichols mills set up the same way, with two opposing spindles like that. (Besides ones with two spindles on the same head.)

Basically they're production machines, intended to mill two sides of a workpiece at the same time. Think something like doing the chamber side and valve-cover rail of a cylinder head simultaneously.

Not much call for 'em in a home shop.

They're small production mills. They come in two sizes. Small and a littlle bit bigger. They usually have a lever for the x and y , but can also be had with screw feeds. I am partial to the over arm version in that it is much more rigid. Good little machines.

Does not appear to be much they could do that an ordinary mill could not ???
