I got this band saw from government surplus for 646.00 ttl. I thought this was a good deal. A little big for my needs but for the price I couldn't pass it up. This was a case of looking at it before buying. The add listed 440V 3ph only. So I looked at it and it was 440 only, if you use the step down transformer in it. Wire around the transformer and you got a 220 3ph band saw. It has a 8hp motor in it 3 speed gear box and Infinitely adjustable variable geometry belt drive. And digital feet per minuet blade speed readout. Spring tension blade tensioner. The blade comes out to be 15' long. And a forty inch throat.I think the 440v 3ph only helped with the price.

And blade welder and grinder it all works.

Awsome saw!
I demand a photo of you feeding a 4x8 sheet of plywood through it, sawing 8" off with the rest in the throat :P
Or cutting the 4x8 sheet into 4x3' sheets (and a 4x2)

Come on, you know you want to!
Yea yea I know it would be a waste... but... find a project that could use large sheets of plywood.. :P

you know, you ought to consider moving up to some small industrial machines, they are far more satisfactory than lame home shop effots like that :D

congrats, a very nice machine

I forgot to mention that the original description listed it's weight at 1500# . So I cruse over there with a 5X10 single axel trailer. Wrong it probably weighs 3000# . It was all the little trailer wanted. O - wait it was more than it wanted I had a flat half way home but got it fixed and made it safely.
