On the subject of building a falling block action, Harry Eales has displayed his work on several other sites. He is in Britain, building a reproduction of a Sharps Borchardt action. He has been at it for several years and is doing a beautiful job. All work is done on a small manual milling machine.

This is a link to his photobucket album detailing his work. It deserves sharing with those who have not yet seen it;

That chap is doing nice work.

I am a big fan of rolling blocks. I have a Carl Gustaf 8x58R in the shop now for a scope mount.

Cheers
Mac.

Edited for proper caliber designation...

Jim,

Thanks for posting. Someday I hope to machine my own firearm. I have no idea what type I want to build yet.

Jim,
Thanks for the link. Always good to see nice work.

Andy,
Start with a simple design. Maybe a single shot .22. As you build confidence go to more complicated designs. You cannot build one any younger.
