The soon-to-be-launched Lightsail-1 uses aluminized Mylar only two tenths thick. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/10/science/space/10solar.html?ref=science. I'll see if any of my rocket-scientist buddies can get some scraps.

2 tenths thick? Mmm, that stuff would be handy for shimming South Bend headstocks :)
