That is some nice iron. Wish I lived closer to BC. Or maybe it's a good thing I don't. Just did an auction yesterday of a big screw machine shop in southern Michigan. I picked up a nice drill bit sharpening machine for a little over $100. 1HP, probably weighs in at about 400 pounds.

Another lot had an air operated vise, air operated 5C collet fixture with valve, 5 inch swivel vise and a lyon rollaround cart for $50. Couldn't not buy them.

BIG Acme Gridley screw machines sold for $500 to $1000. Probably worth that as scrap.

Wow. Looks like lots of great stuff.

Makes me kind of sad, though... 150 employees. I went through a company closure a few years ago. I was lucky enough to get hired by the company that bought the source code to our products, but most weren't.

A circling of vultures again, should be compulsory viewing for the "Look what I bought from Horror Flute or Enslo" brigade. ANOTHER piece of manufacturing capability lost to the recession/Chiwanese supply chain.

Have I got ex industrial machinery? Yep, but there IS a difference between companies updating and plant closure.

Regards Ian.
