I'm new to to this group and just realized my chosen username is the same as a controller product. Purely co-incidental.

I'm looking at VisualMill for creating tool paths. Anyone using it?

There is a seat on ebay that might be a good buy.

Check with Mecsoft before buying used Visual Mill software - they may charge to transfer the license.

If you go to Mecsoft you can get a free down load tutoring program that will teach you allot about Rhino CAD/Cam and Visual Mill. You will all so learn the 4th axes if you want.

I've got VM Pro/RhinoCAM. It works for me, but I've never used any other CAM products so I can't compare it to other software. It seems to offer a lot of tools but as with anything the final result is probably most dependent on how well the user applies the available tools to the task.

cheers,
Michael

I use Visual Mill standard for 2.5D (95% of the stuff I do) projects and am very happy with it. Tool paths are good, drawing in it works and is not painful, and it does a very good job importing .step and .iges files (what I get from customers). I also use Sprutcam for 3D parts, but VM is more stable and faster for most parts. Well worth the money.

Mickey,

What part of Visual Mill is faster than SprutCAM?
