Yesterday my wife was at a yard sale and found a bulletin from Southbend Lathe. The title was "How to Cut Screw Threads in the Lathe" and was printed circa 1936 - price, 10 cents postpaid to ANY address.

Now here's the really neat thing....payment can be coin or stamps of any country! I guess "stamps" were the "money orders" of that day! http://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net//biggrin.gif

Yeah, I can remember when I was a kid (1950's and early 60's) quite often seeing ads that cited stamps as acceptable payment. ...usually for the less expensive items. Regular letter postage was $.03 back then.

Ya,there still are companies that do that, some are Amish/Mennonites,I guess if you send a lot of stuff out through the mail then the stamps are as good as cash cause you have to buy them anyway.
