Aloha,
What is the easiest way to replace the longitudinal power feed screw for a 9"x42" Bridgeport? I am replacing the feed screw and brass nut. Can I crank the table to the extreme left to access the brass nut? Can all this replacement be completed without removing the table from the base?
Mahalo,
Bill

Remove the handles, dials, bearing holders and bearings and you can wind the screws out.
To replace the nut, you will have to remove the table, or at least slide it so one end is past the halfway point so you can access the nut. Removing the gib makes sliding the table easy. Support the overhanging end on a saw horse or tripod if you do not wish to remove entirely.
