I was just resizing pictures in photobucket to post here. That was the only window open using Windows XP. When I tried to save the resized picture to replace the original the threat alarms went off. This appears to be malware. I am about ready to turn off the computer, close the shop and go fishing.

I am inclined to think that there is really something bad going on there, not just misbehaving pop-ups.

How does a marginally functional person deal with sort of problem?

I don't resize the photo anymore since the site does it automatically to 600x800. It takes longer but I don't have to mess with it.

I have gotten an alert notice a time or two but I just close the site and then open it again.

It hasn't happened for about a month now for me.

I have my camera set for 800 x 600 and try to fill the frame to reduce editing - both here (Irfanview) and at or by Photobucket.

I rarely have to increase the resolution on my camera.
