I am looking for old magazine articles, Workshop Hints and Tips by Geometer ran in the Model Engineer and Beginners Workshop by Duplex. These used to available in Yahoo Groups but now seem to have disappeared.

Does anyone know if they are available any where on the internet?

I've done the standard searches and checked torrent sites with no luck.

Thanks, John.

I believe they are copyright. Lots of places to buy old ME's though, model engineering clubs, ebay etc

One more thank-you, thought those were long lost when that Yahoo site was scalped.

There is also a published 60 page booklet out there titled "Workshop Hints & Tips" (by Geometer) a Model Engineer handbook. Found mine at an Ottawa (Ontario) used bookstore through an online book search.

Have a look at www.model-engineer.co.uk - scroll down to "Latest Articles"

They have started to post, for free download, a lot of old issues (usually based upon a project). Don't know if what you want is there but there is plenty. Many of George Thomas' projects are her, for example.

If you want access to all the old issues, there is a subscription available. Initially, there were some problems for North American subscribers but I think this is fixed - usual disclaimer

The Model Engineering Workshop digital back issues are still fubar. I paid for the electronic subscription to the back issues back in December, and I still can't get to them, because (despite MyHobbyStore's assurance), you can't access the archives without an active magazine subscription.

The irony is, I've been a long-time subscriber to Model Engineering Workshop, and my magazine subscription was interrupted when the MyHobbyStore switched North American distributors. I had 2 issues left when the switched, but they swear that EWA (the previous distributor) was charging for 10 month subscriptions, not 12 months.

To add insult to injury, MyHobbyStore used the transition of distributors as an opportunity to increase the subscription rate by 30%

Despite all that, Model Engineering Workshop is a great magazine. So I subscribed in December, but have yet to get my first issue, two months later.
