View Full Version : Spin Indexer

So I bought a cheap spin indexer from CDCO. It does not have any way of mounting it to my mill table. I'm going to use it to make the relief cuts in my home made chamber reamers.

So my question. Should I mill some slots in the base so I can clamp it to the table with T nuts?

I was planning on making a dead center that I can clamp in my milling vice to act as a tail stock. So I'd rather not just clamp it in the vice.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I just use hold downs to mount the spindex to my mill. There is nothing wrong with milling slots for T-nuts either.

I milled slots in mine and now I wished I hadn't. Just clamping it to the table is a better idea.

I don't have one of the hold down sets. I guess I could make special clamps just for the Spindexer. Probably wouldn't be any harder than milling the slots.

Thanks for the replys.
