A friend picked an old hammer and asked me what it was made for. Instead of a normal claw to remove nails it has a much wider than normal (claw like thing) and there is no groove in it (to catch the head of a nail). My guess was it was made for pack okem in the bells of cast iron pipe. Any one have a better idea? Gary P. Hansen

Thanks, Gary. I believe you hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what it looked like. Gary P. Hansen
