I have an oportunity to add the splitter attachment to my M3 and would like your opinions on how well it works and whether it's really worthwhile.
Many thanks.

I have the M5 with the point splitter attachment. You need to align it one time, then it's good for all drills from that point on. If you ask me, it works just great. Points split just right every time. I like Darex and wish they still sold the M series sharpeners.

Would anyone have a photo of the Darex point splitter attachment? Darex doesn't show on their site.

Look at the pictures above your post . The attachment is mounted to the right side of the drill sharpeners in the 2 pictures . The attachment on left side sharpened the drill spiral point at any angle flat bottom to 135 Hope this helps.

Then, heres mine with a bit of a different angle to it -- again, its the attachment on the right. I know you cant get any idea of how it works but it does a really good job of both putting the point on the bit and then splitting it.

Lane, Bill thanks for those photos it appears you both did a great job in building your own Darex M5.

Have either of you seen the other attachments that were available for the M5?
They appear to be a left hand drill attachment, miniature drill attachment, sheet metal & wood point attachment, step drill attachment and a 60 - 90 degree attachment?

I guess if I haven't needed them to date I probably don't, however you never know.
