Me again,

Mr. Question.

I recall reading somewhere a couple years ago that when all of the television signals went digital, the bandwidth that was being used for TV, specifically the UHF bandwidth, was going to be used for internet broadcast.

It seems like I recall that this was to usher in the new super duper high speed access that would enable us (at least us in the US) to be able to travel down the road and have access for long distances at super high speed without interruption.

I have looked on google and not found much new.

Anybody have any new information on this?

Thanks,
Brian

I don't, but I've worked with UHF quite a bit and it is subject to multipath fade (remember tv signals fading when an airplane would fly over?) without space diversity antennae and receiver systems. It will probably work for last-mile and elevator shaft installations but the bandwidth limitations would limit it for wireless backbone and metronet work. Can't beat microwaves for that kind of thing.
