Why is the shipping so high?

Because this is ebay.

Shipping weight is 90# from Fla. The eBay shipping calculator usually overstates charges. In the body of the ad, he states to get estimate of shipping charges from UPS.

I also see that the invoice will include eBay charges. I have never seen that stated before.

I've never sold anything on ebay but I've bought a few items on it. I thought it was the sellers responsibility to pay the ebay charges. How would you know what the ebay charges are going to be on an auction like this? This seems like more of the same old crap that is ruining ebay in the first place.

The fees are on the shoulders of the seller. If somebody complains to FeeBay they may pull the listing....

Nice collection to have though.

I'm surprised that there are only 165 in the collection.
I wasn't aware that it had only been running since 1982, I thought it was a longer run.

The first MEW came out in Summer 1990 at 4 issues per year and now it's monthly but I must admit the content has been thinned out by the close publication dates.

For those of us that write regularly, more frequent deadlines mean thinner, weaker content. Digital Machinist is quarterly and 90 days is just enough time for me to design, build, photograph, and write up the project. More frequent publication would force me to present less complex projects. Now, after I retire... Hmmm.. might be a good thing.

It's too bad that the owner punched or drilled the issues to fit into 3-ring binders, though...

Ironically MEW's 165th issue is out this week. Thats not ironic, it's a coincidence.

No, they are not pulling any thing at the present. They did a major cut back on staff and according to our rep they are only taking down items flagged by law enforcement or the fake patrol.

Looks like this HAS been pulled. No longer listed.
