i just bought a tormach pcnc 1100 and im very pleased with it. Im now in the market for a cnc lathe. I want something that has single phase motor with 2 HP. A 12 swing x 36 inches long. The tormach lathe is too small and you cant use flood coolant with the machine. If anyone knows of a machine like this please let me know. Thank you.

There aren't too many CNC lathes that big that are made for the serious hobby market. Trak might be one candidate. You might also make your wish known to Tormach - rumor has it that they are working on a CNC lathe and another vote might hasten it's development, or at least it's spot on their priority list.

I attended the Tormach Users Group meeting in Ann Arbor during the CNC workshop. They did mention work on a CNC lathe, but were pretty vague on details. What they said sounded like a nice machine, and since they have done a good job of all their milling machines Id bet the lathe will be good.

I haven't been there in a while, but, on CNCZone there was talk about taking a Grizzly G4003 and converting it to CNC with standard 'off the shelf' standard parts from credible vendors.

It might be worth checking there.
