Now in the "final" planning stages and time for switch(es), style, type placement etc.
Single phase, 110, 3/4 Hp Baldor capable of reverse.
Originally I was thinking drum switch but in reading various threads there are some mentioning bumping into such in close quarters. Thoughts, suggestions?
Also there are "maintained" and "momentary"...if I understand the principle correctly, would the "momentary" have any useful function as sort of a "dead man" switch? I am assuming "return to center" is the same thing. If not, what is the difference?
The issue there maybe one of reach at some point as there are no power feeds. It is a 10x24 lathe so not a really long bed, I just have visions of reaching and in so doing moving closer to spinning machinery.
I have read most of the threads related to drum switches though I am sure there will be wiring issues soon. And I think being capable of reverse has advantages so would do that from the start.
Are there dis/advantages to push button types of switches, perhaps placement... I am thinking start, stop, reverse, emergency stop.
