This is pretty far off topic, but I'm about to have a head explosion...

We're trying to find a REALLY SMALL bathroom vanity. The half-bath/powder room in question measures 47"x47", not including trim. The vanity was the standard Golden Oak 18" builder's special. Sitting on the throne involved holding the elbows close.

We figured that there was something readily/cheaply available that was a little bit smaller. We were evidently wrong.

We brought home a "compact pedestal sink" from a big box store. It turned out to be several inches wider than the old vanity. It also failed to adequately hide the supply and drain fittings. Yeah, we could rip open the wall and carve out studs and reframe and replumb and patch drywall so we could squeeze all of the fittings into the corner. The thing is, all we're trying to do is get a few inches of elbow room in addition to repainting the walls and replacing the flooring.

I'm pretty sure that what we need is a 15" or 16" vanity/sink combination - just a slightly narrower version of the old vanity. My Google-Fu must be weak, because I failed to find such a beast, even when I searched "sailboat", "yacht" or "'head".

Just to make it more interesting, our budget is on the order of a couple hundred bucks. We found a few products that might fit the dimensional bill, but when it came to price, the decimal point is in the wrong place. We can't do a $2000 sink.

We've tried the local plumbing supplies. They all responded with a uniform "huh?" and threw in a dumb look at no extra charge.

I've been in a number of smaller bathrooms that worked better than this one. I *know* it can be done...

So anyway, I'm looking for a cheap extra-small vanity. Any suggestions?

I *knew* I was missing something obvious.

Thanks for the reorientation. Stay wet and cool!

I had one of those once. Was aboard the USS America on a Med cruise. Ate several fresh plums at breakfast... turned out to be prunes. Things exploded in the head* a few hours later.

Yep, pertty far off the off topic.

*Head - naval term for the compartment where the showers, sinks and toilets are located.
